ANNUAL CONGRESS
OF THE CZECH NEUROSURGICAL SOCIETY
November 4 – 6, 2026, Pilsen, Czech Republic
& Joint Meetings with the Croatian Neurosurgical Society
& Joint Meetings with the German Society of Neurosurgery
FOREWORD
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
on behalf of the Department of Neurosurgery, University Hospital Pilsen, I am pleased to invite you to the Annual Congress
of the Czech Neurosurgical Society and the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně, which will be held on 4–6 November 2026 at the Parkhotel Congress Center Plzeň.
This congress will take place as a Joint Meeting with the German Society of Neurosurgery and the Croatian Neurosurgical Society. It is a great honour for us to host this congress within the framework of international cooperation, combined
with the exchange of professional experience.
The scientific programme will cover the core fields of neurosurgery, including neuro-oncology, vascular neurosurgery, neurotraumatology, pediatric neurosurgery, spinal surgery, and varia, and will reflect current trends
in modern neurosurgery.
The congress will also include a nursing section and a poster section.
The scientific programme will be complemented by social and sporting events. The social evening will take place
at the Pilsner Brewery, as befits the city of beer. Following the great success of the international match between Czech
and Polish neurosurgeons in Ostrava, I would like to organize a football mini-tournament between the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Germany in Pilsen.
The congress will be preceded, on November 2 – 3 in Pilsen, by a microvascular workshop focused on experimental bypass surgery. Invited experts will include Fady Charbel (Chicago) and David Langer (New York). We warmly invite young physicians from all three participating societies to attend this event.
The congress will be held under the auspices of the Governor of the Pilsen Region, Kamal Farhan, the Director of University Hospital Pilsen, Assoc. Prof. Václav Šimánek, MD, PhD, and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University, Prof. Milan Štengl, MD, PhD.
I look forward to meeting you in Pilsen.
Prof. Vladimír Přibáň, MD, PhD
Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen, Charles University and University Hospital Pilsen
